NBA Power Rankings: NBA Christmas games – 1. Brooklyn Nets vs. Los Angeles Lakers

Seeing arguably the biggest two stars in the league is too big to pass up. Kevin Durant is currently in health and safety protocols but should return in time to face off with LeBron James. James Harden should be back as well.

Even with Anthony Davis out with an MCL sprain, this projects to be a highly-entertaining contest. Unrivaled star power and evenly-matched rosters should ensure that. It could very well be a Finals preview.

LeBron even has a chance to make history. He’s currently the NBA’s second-leading Christmas Day scorer, entering 2021 just 12 points behind the leader, Kobe Bryant. In what should be an emotional moment, James should be able to pass the late legend.

NBA Christmas Day history: It’ll be the Nets’ 11th matchup on the holiday. They went 5-5 over their first 10. The Lakers have appeared in 22 consecutive holiday fixtures, with this one marking number 23.
