NBA Power Rankings: NBA Christmas games – 4. Boston Celtics vs. Milwaukee Bucks

Scheduled as a bout between two of the Eastern Conference’s best units, this game isn’t exactly that as of now. The Celtics struggled out of the gate, and at the time of writing, sit at .500 and nearly out of the playoff picture.

Yet, they’re still loaded with talent and have a trip to Wisconsin to face off with the defending champs. Speaking of the Badger State, local sports fans will be busy on Christmas. Not only do their beloved Bucks play, but the Green Bay Packers do as well.

On the hardwood, they should be treated to another MVP-level performance for Giannis Antetokounmpo. He, Jrue Holiday, and Khris Middleton still make up one of the league’s top trios and will look to shutdown Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and company.

Given the team’s current status, the Bucks could easily run away with a blowout victory. But Boston has more than enough talent to not only make this a fair fight but come away with the win.

NBA Christmas Day history: It’s the Bucks’ fourth consecutive year of playing on Christmas Day (call that the Giannis effect) and it will be the Celtics’ 35th time. They have 19 losses on the day, the fourth-most in league history. Can they avoid No. 20?
