NBA Trades: 6 Jerami Grant trades to help the Detroit Pistons – Chicago Bulls

Finally, if the Chicago Bulls see this season as their chance to build one of the most dangerous starting fives in the Conference, going all-in on Jerami Grant could get them there.

Already among the best two-way teams, adding another two-way performer who would fit in their weakest spot would make them one of the favorites to get out of the Conference. However, doing so would require them to give up the best asset on the team.

Patrick Williams was a target for Troy Williams in his first draft and he would likely love to get a chance to add him to the core. After missing a large chunk of the season, reintegrating him into the scheme may not be worth it if the Bulls are operating strictly in the short term. However, on the Pistons, he would be a transformational defender with the potential to grow into so much more.

Coby White is a pending restricted free agent who has been dealing with plenty of injuries, but could be an interesting scoring prospect off the bench for Detroit. Derrick Jones Jr. is in the trade solely for salary cap purposes, as he would likely be waived to pursue a better opportunity.

This trade would be a home run for the Pistons and therefore is less than likely to happen. The Bulls would have to think they are ready to win the title this season and be willing to give up their key young prospect to do so.

In all likelihood, they would rather just standpat. However, if they did choose to play for now they could do much worse than bringing in Jerami Grant.
