NBA Trades: 6 Jerami Grant trades to help the Detroit Pistons – Atlanta Hawks
Getting better for the Pistons, both of the final two teams can provide impressive young talent in an attempt to take advantage of a wonky season.
The Atlanta Hawks made the Conference Finals a season ago and are currently muddling around .500. They have been primed for a consolidation trade to get them back on track, as far too many of their players overlap on the court.
Cam Reddish is the prime target here. He is having the best season of his career thus far but has struggled to lock down a spot on the rotation. He would be the perfect Grant replacement for the Pistons to take a chance one, hoping he could finally capitalize on the talent that had him rated as highly as RJ Barrett and Zion Williamson coming out of high school.
Onyeka Okongwu is valued highly by the Hawks, but if the Pistons could complete the pipe dream and snag him as well, they would be smart to do so. He is an elite defensive prospect who already showed his worth on that end of the floor in the postseason last year.
Finally, bringing Delon Wright back to the Pistons would be needed to make the money work. He acquitted himself well last season in Detroit before being traded at the deadline and would likely be willing to accept a buyout to pursue a spot in a winning situation on his own terms.
