Defensive-minded NBA trade targets for the Utah Jazz: Danuel House
Due to Utah’s contending hopes, battled-tested experience from any potential trade target is a big plus. That makes someone like Danuel House, who was a pivotal piece on those successful Houston Rockets teams alongside players like James Harden, Chris Paul, and P.J. Tucker, a viable option for the Jazz.
House made a living in Houston due to his 6-foot-6, 220 lb build that allowed him to take on the tough defensive matchups when called upon. The forward oftentimes found himself matching up against some reputable names across the league, and he is still more than capable of doing that in a new environment today.
On top of that, he is a respectable three-point shooter as he knocked down 37.3 percent of his triples on five attempts per game over the previous three years. Shooting like that would be an added bonus outside of his versatile defense.
If the Jazz were interested, they could likely persuade the Rockets to trade them House. Houston has entered a full-on rebuild over the past year after trading away players like Harden and Tucker to gather draft picks.
The Rockets would likely entertain trading away the 28-year-old in order to continue emphasizing their youth, and House’s $3.8 million salary makes him a reasonable player to make a run at for any contender. He would certainly check all of the boxes for Utah.
