NBA trades to help the New York Knicks make the playoffs: Kings & Celtics

Knicks receive: De’Aaron Fox, Dennis Schroder

Celtics receive: Buddy Hield, Derrick Rose, Kevin Knox

Kings receive: Josh Richardson, Romeo Langford, Obi Toppin, Immanuel Quickley, Quentin Grimes, 2022 First-Round Pick (via BOS), 2023 First-Round Pick (via NYK/DAL), 2025 First-Round Pick (via BOS)

Alright, this trade is a bit crazy. The chances of it ever happening are slim to none, but it could actually benefit each team involved in the long run.

First of all, let’s start with the elephant in the room – the Kings trading De’Aaron Fox. However, recent NBA rumors stated that they might look to do just that, so this might not be too unrealistic.

The Knicks would get their franchise point guard, as well as a backup point guard in Dennis Schroder (to help replace Derrick Rose). The core of Fox, Julius Randle, and RJ Barrett would fit nicely.

As for the Kings, they would receive a nice little haul for Fox. In addition to Josh Richardson, they’d get a crop of young talent to develop.

Romeo Langford, Obi Toppin, Immanuel Quickley, and Quentin Grimes all have the potential to turn into quality NBA players, and maybe even something more.

Plus, they’d be getting three unprotected first-round picks in the deal and clearing up a ton of cap space by trading fox and Buddy Hield away.

Lastly, the Celtics would shore up some of their shooting issues by adding Hield and Derrick Rose (via their TPE). Kevin Knox would just be thrown Boston’s way for salary-matching purposes.
