Recent NBA rumors have revealed that the Indiana Pacers are considering starting a rebuild. In turn, they are open to trading Caris LeVert and either Domantas Sabonis or Myles Turner.
If they do choose to enter a rebuild, the large majority of their roster would likely be available for trades. This, in turn, has led to a barrage of NBA trade rumors.
Well, according to a recent article put out by Jared Weiss of The Athletic (subscription required), the Pacers are handling things in a very open way.
Indiana Pacers held a meeting with Myles Turner, Domantas Sabonis, Caris LeVert, and Malcolm Brogdon amongst recent NBA trade rumors
The Pacers held a meeting with multiple key players – Malcolm Brogdon, LeVert, Sabonis, Turner – the other day after the initial article came out detailing the NBA trade rumors.
Team President Kevin Pritchard explained that they like to be open with their players, and instead of just dropping a trade on their heads, they let them know about talks ahead of time.
The article also said that the Indiana Pacers have fielded multiple trade calls on both Sabonis and Turner. The latter of those two players is seemingly itching to get out of Indiana.
Myles Turner is ready to move on from the Indiana Pacers via trade this season
In the other portion of the article, Weiss talked with Turner about his feelings as of late. He doesn’t think the team is utilizing him in the best way possible.
He stated that, in his eyes, the organization sees him as nothing more than an important role player. Turner has his eyes on a bigger role elsewhere.
The Pacers big man also mentioned that he felt taken for granted after he scored 40 points in a game earlier this season. He said that after the game, instead of earning a bigger role, things simply went back to business as usual.
Turner said that he wants that sort of bigger role on a nightly basis, and to be perfectly honest, that will probably end up being on an entirely new team.
He was supposed to be traded to the Boston Celtics in 2020, but things fell thorough after Gordon Hayward signed with the Charlotte Hornets, ending the advanced talks of a sign-and-trade.
Will Myles Turner finally be traded this season? Or are these NBA trade rumors just more of the same? Only time will tell, but the trade deadline will be very interesting this year.
