Trade targets for the Los Angeles Lakers this season: Danuel House

While Covington would be the perfect defensive-minded target for the Lakers, his salary and LA’s lack of desirable assets could make it challenging for them to pull off a trade. In that case, a fitting backup plan would be Danuel House of the Houston Rockets.

House has been a solid two-way wing over the past four seasons in Houston and was a crucial piece on their recent contending teams. The veteran is a solid three-point shooter at 36.9 percent on 4.7 attempts per game since arriving in Houston.

He simultaneously gave the team flexibility on the defensive end, as he could match up with several different positions. Adding a player like that to the bench could be a boost for the Lakers as they are struggling in both of those areas.

With Houston embracing their youth after trading away pieces like James Harden, P.J. Tucker, and the aforementioned Covington, the 28-year-old House could be available as he is currently playing the second-fewest minutes in his career.

On the books for just $3.9 million this season, he could be a sneaky-good addition for teams like the Lakers needing to bolster their defensive personnel and add more outside shooting.
