Week 7 NBA power rankings: 3. Chicago Bulls (16-8)

Rank last week: 7th

Record this past week: 3-0

The Chicago Bulls see themselves enter the top three in this week’s power rankings. A statement win over the Nets was enough to earn them the spot.

They did not lose a single game this past week and had to go through some quality opponents. The Bulls are the real deal, and they’ll be competing for the top seed in the East for the entire season.

Week 7 NBA power rankings: 2. Phoenix Suns (19-4)

Rank last week: 2nd

Record this past week: 2-1

The battle for the top spot in these rankings is a tight one, but the Phoenix Suns fall just short at number two. They managed to beat the Warriors once but also had their win streak snapped by them.

Phoenix is clearly one of the top two teams in the league right now, and there’s an easy argument to have them as number one. For this week, though, they remain at two.

Week 7 NBA power rankings: 1. Golden State Warriors (19–4)

Rank last week: 1st

Record this past week: 2-2

Despite losing twice this week, the Golden State Warriors keep their place at number one in the power rankings. A big reason for this is because they were able to break the Suns’ win streak.

In addition, they still look like the most complete team in the NBA on both sides of the ball. Phoenix is close to dethroning them, but it won’t happen for at least another week.
