NBA: The 25 least deserving Hall of Famers of all-time: 19. Calvin Murphy
Stats: 17.9 ppg, 4.4 apg
The NBA is considered a big man’s game. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s ruled by centers. Basically, what it boils down to, is that the NBA is filled with men who are extremely tall and large when compared to the rest of the world.
At times, like with Calvin Murphy, smaller guys make their way to the league and prove that they belong. Murphy most certainly did that but in terms of his Hall of Fame credentials, he doesn’t have any.
Let’s scroll through the accomplishments of Murphy. And don’t worry, if you’re pressed for time, this won’t take long. Murphy made one All-Star squad and made the All-Rookie team. That’s it. He was never named to an All-NBA team, never won a title, never came close to being named to an All-Defensive squad and he was never considered one of the best players in the league.
Also, with career averages of 17.9 points and 4.4 assists – we have no idea how or why he was ever given a gold jacket.
