NBA: The 25 least deserving Hall of Famers of all-time: 1. Tracy McGrady

Stats: 19.6 peg, 5.6 rpg, 4.4 apg

We can hear everyone slamming their keyboards and throwing their phones halfway across the room. We get it but we fully stand behind the placement of Tracy McGrady at the very top of our list.

Look, in terms of pure talent, McGrady isn’t only Hall of Fame material, he should be in the argument for the greatest player of all time.

On offense, he had no weakness. He could splash a pull-up mid-range jumper right in your face, knockdown countless shots from behind the arc, or embarrass your whole defense at the rim. In addition to that, McGrady was also a great passer and underrated defender. When it comes to scoring, almost no one did it better.

Seriously, McGrady could hoop against Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and anyone else you can think of. His talent was right on par with them. But, the sole reason why McGrady deserves the number one spot on this list, is because he failed to lead any of his ball clubs past the first round. Also, on two separate occasions, McGrady’s team’s held a 3-1 lead before falling apart.

There’s simply no way someone as ridiculously great as McGrady should have so many playoff failures. We also need to stop this notion that he played with no one. Last time we checked, he laced up his sneakers with Vince Carter and most notably, Yao Ming.

There’s no excuse for McGrady. We’re not even asking him to make a final or conference final, we just asked him to make the second round. In our opinion, considering how absurdly great he was, he shouldn’t be a Hall of Famer due to his countless shortcomings in the playoffs.
