Week 6 NBA Power Rankings: 2. Phoenix Suns (17-3)

Rank last week: 2nd

Last week: (5-0) – vs. DEN (W), @ SAS (W), @ CLE (W), @ NYK (W), @ BKN (W)

Offensive rating: 110.8 (7th in NBA)

Defensive rating: 103.7 (3rd in NBA)

It is absolutely wild that the Phoenix Suns aren’t first in the power rankings. They are currently on a ridiculous 16-game win streak, and have dominated since starting the year 1-3.

A huge part of that is the fact that Devin Booker has picked up the pace in a big way. Over the last week alone he’s averaged 27.4 points on crazy-efficient shooting.

In addition, Chris Paul continues to dominate the assist column and Deandre Ayton does the same in the rebounding department. They have a great system going on out in Phoenix.

Combine all that with an elite defense, and it makes a recipe for success. Phoenix looks dominant right now, and nothing has stood in their way just yet.

Season outlook: After a 1-3 start had people calling their Finals run last year a fluke, the Suns have answered those calls. They look like a top contender to not only make it out of the West, but to win it all this year. There’s no reason this team can’t make it to the Finals once again this season.
