Week 6 NBA Power Rankings: 18. Cleveland Cavaliers (10-10)

Rank last week: 19th

Last week: (1-2) – vs. BKN (L), vs. PHX (L), vs. ORL (W)

Offensive rating: 105.5 (23rd in NBA)

Defensive rating: 105.1 (8th in NBA)

After a hot start to the season, the Cleveland Cavaliers now sit at 10-10 on the season. However, injuries have certainly bogged down what was looking like an amazing season for them.

Despite that, they did manage to go 2-1 last week, and both of their losses were to great teams. However, the solid play of other teams means that the Cavaliers only jump one spot from last week’s rankings.

Darius Garland has been looking like a potential future All-Star. He averaged 23.0 points and 9.7 assists last week while committing less than three turnovers per game.

In addition, Jarrett Allen was amazing and Evan Mobley made his return after an injury. The young core of Cleveland is looking phenomenal right now.

Season outlook: While they have slowed down significantly since their hot start, the Cavs are still in a position to fight for a play-in spot. That’s a wild accomplishment, considering how bad most people expected them to be this season. Losing Collin Sexton hurts, but they should still be able to power through.
