Week 6 NBA Power Rankings: 19. Philadelphia 76ers (10-10)

Rank last week: 13th

Last week: (1-2) – @ SAC (W), @ GSW (L), vs. MIN (L)

Offensive rating: 111.0 (5th in NBA)

Defensive rating: 109.8 (23rd in NBA)

The Philadelphia 76ers took a nosedive in the NBA power rankings because Joel Embiid was out. However, them losing upon his return doesn’t do much to help their cause.

Their offense has been great, and players such as Tyrese Maxey and Seth Curry are a big part of that. However, things on the defensive end have been horrendous.

In addition to that, Tyrese Maxey has been going through a shooting slump. He’s been one of their most consistent players this year, but he shot 12.5 percent from deep last week.

The 76ers have enough talent, so they’ll figure things out, but they are sliding right now. However, with how close the standings are, one good week could propel them into the top fifteen.

Season outlook: Once Embiid gets himself going again, the 76ers will be back in the Eastern Conference playoff picture. However, with how competitive the East is this year, they are going to have to really battle. This team still projects to be a playoff team and could end up going on a deep run if things go their way.
