NBA: Ranking the league’s best third options: 11. Buddy Hield, Sacramento Kings

Before the start of the season, we were fully prepared to place Harrison Barnes as the Sacramento Kings third-best scoring option. However, with Barnes finally living up to his potential, believe it or not, but he’s become the Kings best scoring option this season.

Point guard De’Aaron Fox is the teams second best scorer. But truth be told, both Fox and Barnes will flip flop in those one and two positions all year long. Setting that pair aside, and it’s clear as day that Buddy Hield is the Kings third-best scorer this year.

Once believed to be a future All-Star in the making, Hield has now shown us all who he is as a player. And while it isn’t what many were expecting or hoping for, he’s still a terrific one. Hield doesn’t have much wiggle in his game. He isn’t going to wow you with a creative crossover a mind-bending dunk but he’s simple, efficient, and runs defenders all over the court as he runs through a million and one screens.

At close to 40% from the 3-point line, you simply can’t leave Hield open. Sometimes, simple can be a great thing.
