NBA: Ranking the league’s best third options: 14. Evan Fournier, New York Knicks

A few years ago, it would’ve been crazy to think that Julius Randle could be the number one option for a playoff team. But, after putting in the work over the years, he’s clearly proving a ton of people wrong.

Randle’s most reliable wingman is RJ Barrett. He’s pouring in almost 18 points per game and appears to be getting better and better. Outside of those two, and Derrick Rose on occasion, the New York Knicks had a ton of issues last season in the playoffs in terms of scoring.

After getting their hands on Evan Fournier, albeit for a hefty sum, he’s slotted in nicely as their third-best scorer. At the moment, the Frenchmen is giving the Knicks 14.9 points per game on 42.4% from the field and 37.5% from the 3-point line.

Fournier is more than capable of dropping 25 or more on a given night but it’s his somewhat erratic play that leaves him toward the middle of the pack on our list.
