NBA: Ranking the league’s best third options: 17. Jordan Poole, Golden State Warriors

Once Klay Thompson comes back, the pecking order is going to change for the Golden State Warriors dramatically. But for now, we’ll stick with how they’re currently constructed.

Jordan Poole is having a super surprising season. He’s currently averaging career highs across the board in points per game, rebounding, assists, free throw percentage, and field goal percentage. He doesn’t offer much in terms of playmaking, setting up teammates, and defending at a high level but his scoring more than makes up for everything he lacks.

Poole is a no-conscious shooter, the kind head coach Steve Kerr loves to throw out there next to Steph Curry. Unlike numerous names on this list, Poole doesn’t massage the ball. He either quickly fires off a shot, drives it, or passes it then moves without it.

There’s a reason why the Golden State Warriors have the best record in the league. Okay, we know that’s mostly because of Steph Curry. But, we’d be lying if we said Poole doesn’t play a huge part.
