NBA: Ranking the league’s best third options
NBA: Ranking the league’s best third options: 19. Kyle Kuzma, Washington Wizards
On paper, Montrezl Harrell has the second-best scoring average on the Washington Wizards. But, in no way, shape or form is he their second or even third best option on offense. Obviously, Bradley Beal is the Wizards’ best offensive player. Their second option, is newly acquired point guard, Spencer Dinwiddie. Checking in at third is Kyle Kuzma.
In his first full season with his new team, Kuzma is doing a pretty good job all around. Currently, he’s averaging 14.1 points per game but his shooting splits aren’t very pretty. From the field, Kuzma is connecting on just 41.9% of his shots. From distance, only 34.9%. Now, if you think those were bad, then you don’t want to look at his free throw percentage. Kuzma has been God awful from the charity stripe, nailing only 47.8%.
Still, Kuzma is the third-best scorer the Wizards have. Unlike Harrell, Kuzma has the ability to create his own shot, albeit he isn’t very good at it to begin with. In the grand scheme of things, Kuzma is one of the league’s worst third options but for the Wizards, he’s the best they got.
