NBA: Ranking the league’s best third options: 22. Eric Gordon, Houston Rockets

When will the beatings come to an end for the Houston Rockets? Probably never.

The franchise is currently going through arguably its worst time ever. By the time the season comes to a close, we’ll be surprised if they manage to win double-digit games. When we take a look at the pecking order for their offensive talent, it’s easy to see why.

Christian Wood should never be a number one option but he is for this Houston franchise. Right behind him is former number two overall pick Jalen Green. Rounding out their top three is Eric Gordon. He isn’t the explosive 20 point per game scorer that he once was but he’s still efficient and capable of exploding for over 30 points on any given night.

If this was a few years ago, Gordon would be towards the top of the list. However, last time we checked, we’re in the year 2021.
