NBA Trades: One Ben Simmons trade for every NBA team – Chicago Bulls

This was the kind of move that made sense before the season, but now that the Chicago Bulls have been one of the more positive surprises of the year, it is hard to imagine.

The Bulls have made all of their pieces fit rather seamlessly thus far, so why mess with what is going so well? There is no reason to, but let’s make the case for the fun of it.

Despite the turnaround, there is still a chance the Bulls’ front office does not want to commit a long-term max contract for Zach LaVine. No longer is he the dominant scorer on the team, as the newly added DeMar DeRozan has nearly matched his output.

If LaVine is adamant on a payday that the Bulls do not want to hand out, they could do worse than trading him before free agency for Simmons. He would complement the ball-hawking defense brought on a nightly basis by Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso.

For the Sixers, this was always one of the more interesting plays. LaVine brings to the table everything that Morey loved about Harden at about 75 percent of the peak Harden experience.

He would be an amazing go-to perimeter scorer to pair with Embiid and would firmly plant them in the mix for favorites to win the Eastern Conference.
