NBA Trades: One Ben Simmons trade for every NBA team – New York Knicks

When the New York Knicks signed the contracts they did this offseason, it was acknowledged that they existed in a vacuum to be traded at a future date. The Knicks have been connected to any and every star that has become available for generations and this would be no different.

Simmons is a Tom Thibodeau kind of player, focused just on the defensive side of the ball. While the fit with the fans of New York may be as treacherous as that with the Philadelphia faithful, the on-court fit is appealing.

Adding Julius Randle, an All-NBA talent and reigning Most Improved Player, would bring a new dynamic to the Sixers, as he is a smart passer and defender.

His shot has gotten better with age and he would find himself in his perfect role as a secondary option, as opposed to the number one option. Kemba Walker is on a manageable contract, too, and would provide a solid safety net off the bench for the Sixers.

Mitchell Robinson is the swing piece here. His place with the future of the organization has been questionable at best, given his health issues and lack of development on the court.

He is an elite lob threat and should be a solid post defender. So far, it has not all clicked. With Doc Rivers’ history of helping big men develop, however, it is a risk worth taking.
