NBA Trades: One Ben Simmons trade for every NBA team – Memphis Grizzlies
Back to a team where the fit simply does not make sense. It is tough for a team with a point guard who does not thrive as a shooter as their best player to consider adding Simmons to the team.
Ja Morant has been sensational this season, clearly taking a step forward as a probably All-Star for an up-and-coming team, but he is no shooter. This season has been his best, knocking down 36.8 percent of his 4.8 attempts per game, but until the sample size is larger, the combination still feels sketchy.
However, if the team were to choose to be optimistic, taking a chance could be interesting. Memphis has consistently been a solid team over the years without being able to lure a high-level free agent to their city. This would be the chance to do just that on their own terms.
Kyle Anderson and Dillon Brooks would flesh out the financial portion while allowing Memphis to consolidate some of their complimentary players into a potential star.
Brooks would be a nice option for the Sixers, bringing in a gritty guard who could explode with increased attention. Anderson is a decent shooter, albeit on limited volume, and would bring an eclectic game to the Sixers. Adding one of the younger players into the Ben Simmons trade would make it worth it for the Sixers, choosing Ziaire Williams for the sake of the deal.
