NBA Trades: One Ben Simmons trade for every NBA team – Los Angeles Lakers

This might be the definition of magic Christmas land, but the Los Angeles Lakers should be doing everything in their power to move on from Russell Westbrook. Despite it being LeBron James’ request during the offseason, the fit hurts the eyes of everyone watching and needs to be adjusted if the team hopes to put another ring on the finger of the King. Given that the Lakers are essentially Team Klutch at this point, it makes sense to bring in their beleaguered client.

Simmons would be the perfect guard for this team. He would not hesitate to kick it to Anthony Davis or James, something Westbrook at times appears to forget to do.

He would prove to be a stellar defensive partner next to Davis, empowering the roster to get back to the elite defense that made them a title contender in the first place. The Ben Simmons trade would also bring Danny Green back into the fold, back to the team he helped win the title in the bubble.

For the Sixers, admittedly, this trade makes little sense. Morey did trade for Westbrook in Houston, but reportedly that was done under protest and ultimately led to him leaving the team. Him choosing to trade for him now would blow the mind of many. If nothing else, it would certainly be fun to watch the fireworks.
