NBA Trades: One Ben Simmons trade for every NBA team – Detroit Pistons

Connected through the rumor mill this week, a potential Detroit Pistons-Simmons deal makes sense for both sides. Depending on which of the rumors are closest to accurate, something like the package below seems to be the going rate (in addition to some sort of draft compensation). For my money, this makes both teams better.

For Detroit, Simmons is another elite passer and defender who would pair with Cade Cunningham and Killian Hayes for some of the most impressive ball movement in the league. He fits the age range of the Pistons young core perfectly. This would be a joy to watch.

For Philadelphia, at a glance, Jerami Grant’s skillset does feel similar to that of Tobias Harris. However, Grant has shown the ability to be a much more staunch defender. For a Sixers squad that has slipped drastically on defense, Grant would be a welcome inclusion.

Kelly Olynyk provides a different kind of big off the bench, adding lineup versatility if Andre Drummond is not the right answer that night. Saddiq Bey played his college ball at Villanova and returning to Philadelphia would suit his game perfectly.

He was a flamethrower from beyond the arc as a rookie, but this season has been tasked with doing too much. That would not be the case with the Sixers, giving him the ability to get back to what put him on the map.
