NBA Power Rankings: 30. Houston Rockets (1-15)

Last week: (0-4) – vs. PHX (L), @ MEM (L), @ OKC (L), @ NYK (L)

Rank last week: 30

Offensive rating: 98.0 (30th in NBA)

Defensive rating: 108.7 (21st in NBA)

The Houston Rockets are the worst team in the NBA this season. Up to this point, they have only won a single game and things are only getting worse.

As a whole, their defense hasn’t been horrendous, but the same cannot be said about their offense. They have the worst offense in the NBA and are one of only two teams with an offensive rating below 100.

The only real highlight of their season so far has been Eric Gordon, who is playing amazing basketball this year. However, the only reason that’s good is that it’ll improve his trade value.

Christian Wood has been struggling mightily as of late, but that has allowed Jalen Green to step things up in the scoring column a bit. Unfortunately, his efficiency numbers still look pretty rough.

Season outlook: The plan for Houston was always going to be aiming for a lottery pick. However, this may be a little bit worse than even they expected them to be. Regardless, gunning for the top pick in the draft isn’t a terrible strategy with a team as young as the Rockets are right now, and that’s where they are headed.
