It’s time for week 5 of the NBA power rankings. The NBA standings are starting to take shape, and some teams are asserting themselves as the best in the league.

The Warriors have continued to dominate, the Nets have asserted themselves in the East, and some teams that were underperforming to start the year have begun to pick things up.

NBA Power Rankings: Week 5 sees Lakers plummet, Bucks surge

Meanwhile, other teams who got off to a hot start have started to level out. It’s tough to maintain a high level of play throughout the season, and some teams are just now learning that.

Some teams have continued to slide, some have continued to rise, and some stay firmly placed in the middle. That’s what the NBA power rankings are all about.

Twelve teams make the playoffs, and eight more get the chance to compete for a playoff spot. With how competitive the NBA is this season, that race is going to be very fun to watch.

The top contenders around the league are emerging at this point in the season, but there’s still plenty of basketball left to be played. It’s still less than a quarter of the way through the season.

There’s no clear favorite in either conference, despite how much the Warriors have been playing. It’s still anyone’s game this year, and that’s what makes the league so fun.

So, how are this week’s NBA power rankings looking? Which teams jumped up, which teams stayed the same, and which ones are falling down the rankings?
