One month into the season, the Golden State Warriors are one of the hottest teams in the NBA. The franchise appears to be recapturing its recent glory and making a push back to the top of the league’s upper echelon.

Golden State is 14-2 through the first 16 games of the season. A quick glance at the league reveals the scorching Phoenix Suns as the only team within two games of the Warriors at the top of the table.

Unsurprisingly, Steph Curry is pacing the Warriors’ hot start. He’s averaging 29.5 points per game, hitting more than 41 percent of his three-pointers, and just generally playing like the perennial MVP candidate he is. This team goes as Curry goes.

But Curry hasn’t been on an island this season. There are other Warriors off to a hot start, helping lead the team back to the throne as Golden State emerges as a title contender once again.

It’s notable that the Warriors have fought their way back to the top without Klay Thompson. The sharpshooter is progressing nicely in his rehab from a torn Achilles. It’s still not clear when he’ll be able to take the court this season, but the Warriors will be even scarier when they get Thompson back.

Until that day comes, Steve Kerr and the rest of the Warriors will hope to continue getting strong contributions from players who are off to hot starts. If the strong beginnings are sustainable, Golden State could be well on its way to another title.
