The spotlight is on Darius Garland now that Collin Sexton is out for the season with a meniscus injury. The Cleveland Cavaliers are no longer satisfied with another year of tanking.

They want to win, and Garland is the one they are counting on to take them there. It is time for the Cleveland Cavaliers to sink or swim and Darius Garland is at the heart of any success they see moving forward.

Darius Garland will make-or-break the Cleveland Cavaliers season

Last season, Darius Garland was severely underrated as a sophomore standout for the Cavaliers. He completely erased an injury-ridden rookie season that was devoid of confidence, emerging as one of the brightest young guards in the league.

Entering his third NBA season, DG Was selected by many as a favorite to win the league’s Most Improved Player of the Year award. Still, he would have to prove himself worthy of that honor and he has now been given a prime opportunity to do so.

With a flurry of injuries and safety protocols leaving the Cavaliers depleted, Garland has been thrust into the forefront as the team’s best scorer and playmaker. Thus far, he is taking the challenge of leading this squad in stride.

He’s the leader the team desperately needs right now, especially with Sexton gone. Cleveland’s frontcourt of doom may be the story of the team, but Garland is the one people should be looking at.
