Realistic NBA trades based on the latest NBA rumors: Christian Wood trade to the Sacramento Kings

Kings receive: Christian Wood

Rockets receive: Marvin Bagley III, 2023 First-Round Pick (Lottery Protected), 2025 First-Round Pick

The Sacramento Kings have been desperately trying to make the playoffs for the past decade. This trade would get them significantly closer to that goal.

Marvin Bagley III has been very vocal about his unhappiness with the Kings. He is currently not a part of their regular rotation, and his agent has spoken out about it.

The former second-overall pick desperately needs a fresh start, and Houston could be the perfect place for him to do that. They are a young, up-and-coming team who has the leeway to take a chance on Bagley.

Meanwhile, trading Wood could be in their best interest as well, he only has two years left on his deal, and as the team enters a full-on rebuild, trading him for value could be a good idea.

Two picks from the Kings could end up being very valuable if things don’t work out. With their track record, that’s not exactly too hard to imagine happening.

At the same time, though, the Kings should be trying to make all the necessary moves in order to reach the postseason. Being in the lottery year after year has to be getting old.

A trade for Wood definitely elevates the Kings’ roster, while adding Bagley could be Houston’s next big project (similar to their work with Kevin Porter Jr.).
