NBA trades to help the Indiana Pacers begin a rebuild: Myles Turner trade to the Golden State Warriors

Pacers receive: James Wiseman, Jonathan Kuminga

Warriors receive: Myles Turner

This trade is about as simple as it gets, but it would significantly help both sides in what they are trying to accomplish. Myles Turner would, in theory, fit in beautifully with the Golden State Warriors.

It’s pretty clear with the way that they’ve been playing that the Warriors are gunning for the NBA championship this season. Stephen Curry is an early MVP favorite, and the same can be said about Draymond Green and the Defensive Player of the Year.

Despite all their success, Golden State has never had a center worth noting. (Sorry Andrew Bogut, JaVale McGee, etc.) Adding Turner would change that.

Not only does he protect the paint at an elite level, leading the NBA in blocks (3.1), but he can also space the floor and knock down threes. If that doesn’t scream “Golden State Warriors,” then I don’t know what does.

The price they would have to pay is hefty, though, simply due to having to match salaries. In turn, though, Indiana would get two young studs to build around.

James Wiseman has been hurt all of this season, but the former number-two pick still has a ton of promise. Meanwhile, Jonathan Kuminga was a lottery pick this past year and has great defensive upside.

The Indiana Pacers could begin their rebuild with Wiseman, Kuminga, and Christ Duarte. That’s a solid young core to build around, especially if they could get regular playing time.
