Ranking all 30 NBA jerseys: 23. Denver Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets used to rock the jersey world. They were entirely unafraid to rep for the Rocky Mountains with whatever color scheme they landed on that year. It may not have been a suave look, but it was fun, it was bold, and it was iconic.

Occasionally the Nuggets roll out alternate jerseys that remind us of those fun times. They have to remind us because using the Nuggets’ current jerseys as a reference would mean forgetting all about exciting jersey looks.

Their jerseys now are primarily dominated by a single color, whether that is white, navy, or bright blue. They’ve even completely punted on the light blue of a crisp mountain day!

In essence, the Nuggets have punted on their historic looks, punted on fun color combinations, essentially just punted on anything remotely interesting. The gold and blue look good together (above), but it’s nothing special.

Their cobalt blue uniform says “Mile High City” instead of Denver or Nuggets, which I like. Yet why are there no mountains? Or even the team’s secondary logo, the pickaxes? The jerseys don’t look bad, but the contrast to their exciting history leaves me disappointed.

Wife Take: I like the contrast, the blue and the gold. [I then showed her the 80s look]. Well, that’s a choice. It looks like the 80s! I guess that means it will come back in style soon.
