Ranking all 30 NBA jerseys: 25. Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks have trotted out some truly interesting jersey designs over their history, including a long stretch with a lot of green and some funky fonts. Their best look was the sharp blue jerseys that I always picture Dirk Nowitzki in. Their primary uniforms during the 2000s were clean, bold, and great to look at.

They have retained the basic look of the white jersey, which is fine, but not magical. It’s clean, which is the best way to manage the whites if you have a good color scheme. The arm banding is classic Dallas. It invokes some thought of history, and it’s probably a good thing that there’s no green to be found. The Mavs have had this basic white jersey for decades.

Otherwise, they have two shades of blue jerseys, and neither is doing much for me. Between the horse, the blue basketball, and stars, there is a wealth of iconography to be involved that the Mavs don’t engage anywhere. Instead, they have hidden their logo away at the bottom and side of the shorts, and otherwise, it’s nowhere to be found.

Wife Take: That white just looks like a nightmare to clean. I guess it’s not as big of a deal in basketball, and they probably have someone to do their laundry. But every time I see a white football jersey I just think about the poor person trying to get those grass stains out.
