Does a Marvin Bagley III trade make sense for the Detroit Pistons?: The trade

After the last few weeks, it would work out best for the team if Hamidou Diallo was involved. He has found himself on the outside looking in regard to coach Dwane Casey’s rotations and has been visibly frustrated on the bench.

However, given his contract’s noted trade kicker, involving him in the trade becomes complicated. Instead, this move will free up a place for him in the lineup.

Josh Jackson is an expiring contract and fits perfectly what the Sacramento Kings need. He would provide solid scoring on the wing and off the bench for a team hoping to end one of the longest postseason droughts in NBA history.

Making the money work requires the Pistons to include another player and, in this case, either Frank Jackson or Trey Lyles would round out the deal. Both these players are not eligible to be traded until December 14, so this would require patience from both parties.

Jackson is slowly starting to warm up as a shooter, but with Killian Hayes finding his grove from distance, that is less essential. Some number of second-round picks may need to be exchanged as well, depending on which side ends up with the leverage at the time of the deal.
