3 New York Knicks players who deserve more playing time: Derrick Rose

Were you really expecting any other name here?

Jumping from team to team and instantly becoming the team’s most likable player isn’t easy, though Derrick Rose sure makes it look that way. Now on his second stint for the New York Knicks, D-Rose quickly turned almost every Knicks fan into a bona fide Rose stan.

When you take a look at the numbers solely by themselves, there isn’t a single doubt that D-Rose is deserving of more playing time. Much more playing time, to be frank.

The 12.8 points per game are not a huge surprise to anyone. This is a former MVP we’re dealing with, and people are often quick to forget about that. What really makes the eyes pop out, is the 47.9 percent shooting from behind the arc. Yes, that is in fact 47.9 percent.

This ranks him 4th in the entire NBA so far, one spot ahead of Steph Curry, who is now the NBA’s all-time leader in 3-pointers made after surpassing Ray Allen on Friday night.

Yes, Derrick Rose is currently shooting the rock better than that fella. Now that we’ve become familiar with the statistic, he also ranks 7th in the NBA in plus/minus with a staggering +110. The guy’s been good, to say the least.

Regardless of that, he is playing noticeably fewer minutes when compared to last season. As specified before, his productivity is certainly deserving of more playing time, however, one has to bring his injury problems into the equation, and Thibs is correctly mindful of that.
