Week 4 NBA Power Rankings: 25. Minnesota Timberwolves (4-8)

86. . 4-8. Previous: 24th. Minnesota Timberwolves. 25. team

Last week: (1-3) – @ MEM (L), @ GSW (L), @ LAL (W), @ LAC (L)

Offensive rating: 103.0 (26th in NBA)

Defensive rating: 107.0 (15th in NBA)

If it weren’t for their recent blowout win over the Lakers, the Minnesota Timberwolves likely would have found themselves even further down on this list.

Before that win, they had lost six straight games after starting out the season strong. Things were looking rough for Karl-Anthony Towns and the Wolves.

This past week, however, it has not been Towns leading the charge for Minnesota. Instead, Anthony Edwards has taken over as the go-to scorer for them, averaging 28.0 points on ridiculously efficient splits.

The whole team has been shooting well for the past few games. However, their defensive numbers have taken a huge hit since last week, and are now back down to bottom-ten in the league.

Season outlook: With Towns, Edwards, and D’Angelo Russell, the Wolves should definitely be further along in their rebuild than they are now. They will likely be fighting for a play-in spot, but right now, it’s not looking too good for them. If they end up in the lottery again this year, it might be time for a change in Minnesota.
