Week 4 NBA Power Rankings: 28. Detroit Pistons (3-9)

Detroit Pistons. 28. team. 64. . 3-9. Previous: 30th

Last week: (2-1) – @ HOU (W), @ CLE (L), @ TOR (W)

Offensive rating: 99.4 (30th in NBA)

Defensive rating: 108.9 (21st in NBA)

The Detroit Pistons did not go winless this past week, so that should be a victory in and of itself. In fact, they even took down Jalen Green and the Houston Rockets in the process.

Cade Cunningham didn’t care much for the rivalry talk, but Green clearly did by the way he acted after his monster dunk. Detroit got the win, though, so that’s all that really matters.

Despite being only third-to-last in these rankings, Detroit has been horrendous. They have the worst field goal percentage in nearly 60 years.

The only reason they aren’t dead last in these power rankings is that they actually picked up a couple of wins. That has to count for something, even if it doesn’t count for much.

Season outlook: Although they may be historically bad, that’s perfectly fine in the eyes of Pistons fans. Or at least, it should be. They are well on their way to having a top pick in the draft and being able to pair Cunningham up with another star-level rookie. That’s the ideal scenario for this organization.
