Week 4 NBA Power Rankings: 12. Cleveland Cavaliers (9-5)

Last week: (3-1) – @ NYK (W), vs. WAS (L), vs. DET (W), vs. BOS (W)

Offensive rating: 106.4 (20th in NBA)

Defensive rating: 103.4 (5th in NBA)

When the power rankings came out last week, the Cleveland Cavaliers were clearly not getting the respect they deserve. Well, here is that respect that they definitely do deserve.

The Cavs have looked phenomenal this season, especially when compared to how most people assumed they would look. The big key for Cleveland this year has been defense.

The two-headed monster of Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley has proved to be far more effective than anyone could have imagined. They have wreaked havoc on the NBA.

On top of that, Darius Garland is looking like a stud as well. This young Cavaliers team is ready to take that next leap, and they don’t care who is standing in their way.

Season outlook: Compared to their expectations heading into the season, the Cavs look phenomenal. However, they will still likely end up being a play-in team. That being said, the fact that they are even in the fight for the playoffs, or the play-in, is incredible.
