Week 4 NBA Power Rankings: 13. Los Angeles Lakers (7-6)

Last week: (2-1) – vs. CHA (W), vs. MIA (W), vs. MIN (L)

Offensive rating: 104.5 (24th in NBA)

Defensive rating: 106.6 (14th in NBA)

Ironically enough, the Los Angeles Lakers started to figure things out right as LeBron James went down with an injury. Obviously, they’re better with him on the court, but it’s just an interesting fact to note.

Anthony Davis has been playing great basketball all season. His consistency is the one thing that has kept the Lakers afloat amidst their early-season struggles.

As for Russell Westbrook, he has been figuring things out lately, too. He’s been shooting much better this past week, and he’s back in triple-double form.

Carmelo Anthony has cooled down a tiny bit from his hot start, but he’s still shooting the ball super well. This Lakers squad is finally starting to put it all together.

Season outlook: Once LeBron James comes back, this team will be ready for a big-time playoff run. Barring any injuries, they should be a force to be reckoned with in the playoffs. This team very clearly has championship aspirations this season.
