NBA player rankings week 4: 6. DeMar DeRozan

This has been one of the more feel-good stories of the season. After some fairly lackluster seasons in San Antonio, DeMar DeRozan is thriving again with the Chicago Bulls.

Team success: The Bulls were one of the hottest teams in the NBA to start the season. While they aren’t on the same level as the Warriors, they are currently tied for first place in the Eastern Conference.

With the number of moves they made this offseason, most people expected them to be good. However, not many people expected them to be this good, and DeRozan is a huge part of that.

Player stats: DeRozan is averaging 26.0 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game. He is shooting 48.8 percent from the field and 34.6 percent from three-point range.

His three-point percentage may not seem great, but it’s the best he has shot from deep in his entire career. That’s a huge development for a Bulls team who probably didn’t expect that from him.

Reason for rank: As mentioned, this is one of the best stories of the season so far. However, while it may be fun to see DeRozan be playing well he’s also unironically one of the best players in the league this season.

His play is one of, if not the top reason behind the Bulls’ success this season. He deserves all the praise in the world, which in this case, includes a place on this list.
