This season, the NBA got off to a crazy start. A bunch of teams looked like sure-fire playoff teams from the jump, but now that we’re a few more games in, nothing seems certain anymore.

Let’s start with the Miami Heat. For the first few games of the season, they were widely regarded as the best team in the entire league. However, since then, things have begun to cool down.

As of now, they have lost three games in a row and are sitting at 7-5. Duncan Robinson continues to struggle, and their current West Coast road trip is clearly taking its toll.

The Charlotte Hornets are another great example of this. Though they may not have been as highly regarded as the Heat, they have lost five of their last six games after a great start.

The NBA finally has parity again and it’s a beautiful thing to see

Teams such as the New York Knicks, Utah Jazz, and Philadelphia 76ers have all started to come back down to earth as well. Meanwhile, some of the teams who got off to a slow start have begun to pick things up.

This group includes both NBA Finals teams last year. The Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns struggled to start the year, but both are now starting to show some signs of life.

The Brooklyn Nets have also turned things around in a big way. Even unlikely teams such as the Cleveland Cavaliers and Toronto Raptors have come out of the woodwork.

Most competitive teams are around the same level right now, and it just shows how much parity there is in the NBA right now compare to a few years ago.

That is, until you look at the Golden State Warriors. They are 10-1 right now and have been nothing short of incredible, but outside of that the point still stands.

Parity is as present as it ever has been in the NBA. It seems as though any team can win on any given night, and that’s an amazing thing to see. It makes the game of basketball more fun, and it makes being an NBA fan more fun.

While it was cool to see a bunch of teams get off to super hot starts, seeing them cool off shows just how great this league is. The rest of this NBA season is already shaping up to be one of the best and most interesting in a long, long time.
