Week 3 NBA power rankings: 1. Philadelphia 76ers

Previous: 5th. Philadelphia 76ers. 1. team. 93. . 8-2

Last week: (4-0) – vs. POR (W), vs. CHI (W), @ DET (W), @ CHI (W)

Offensive rating: 115.4 (1st in NBA)

Defensive rating: 106.4 (15th in NBA)

The Philadelphia 76ers look amazing this season. Sure, the defense isn’t as good as it was last season, but their improved offensive production is more than making up for it.

The crazy part about it all is that Joel Embiid is only putting up around 20 points per game. Philadelphia is getting contributions from a ton of different places.

The spacing on the team is insane, too. They rank first in the entire NBA in three-point percentage so far this year (39.4 percent). The amount of shooting on this team is incredible.

It’s almost as if putting elite shooters around Embiid leads to a ton of success. Interesting how this is the first year the NBA has really seen that. Wonder what changed.

Season outlook: With the way this team is playing now, there’s no reason they can’t contend for an NBA championship this season. Embiid, Tobias Harris, and the rest of the squad are locked and loaded. This team is going to be a very scary group to deal with come playoff time.
