Week 3 NBA power rankings: 22. Sacramento Kings

84. . 5-4. Previous: 22nd. Sacramento Kings. 22. team

Last week: (2-2) – @ DAL (L), @ UTA (L), vs. NOP (W), vs. CHA (W)

Offensive rating: 111.7 (5th in NBA)

Defensive rating: 109.4 (24th in NBA)

The Sacramento Kings were 2-2 last week, but their two wins were against teams that have been struggling lately. In fairness, though, the win vs. the Hornets was an absolute blowout.

Harrison Barnes has been leading the charge for Sactown. He’s been an absolute sharpshooter for them and is their go-to guy when it comes to late-game scenarios.

De’Aaron Fox continues to struggle, but a lot of players are finding the same issues due to the new rule changes. Davion Mitchell picked up the pace during the Charlotte game, too.

They sit at 5-5 on the year and continue to be one of the more mediocre teams in the league. In true mediocre fashion, the Kings remain at the number 22 spot in the rankings this week.

Season outlook: Unfortunately for Kings fans, this might be another season where they are unable to make the playoffs. Their current playoff drought is the longest in the entire league. It’s particularly frustrating for Sacramento because they are actually trying to win games, but they just can’t seem to put things together.
