This isn’t the first time where things got emotional between this core of players. Just last calendar year the team got into a locker-room spat after a Game 2 loss against the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals.

According to reports, Marcus Smart and Jaylen Brown were at the center of the drama. The team supposedly had put the entire altercation behind them, but this new drama says otherwise.

Tracing all the way back to that issue, Boston’s locker-room issues have been going on for over a year now. It seems as though the problems have not been completely resolved.

This time around, Smart was the one to dredge up the drama once again. His comments were presumably the reason for their players-only meeting, which, according to Wojnarowski, didn’t go so well.

A player calling out his teammates in the manner that Smart did is not usually something that is taken lightly. Tatum and Brown likely weren’t very happy about it, and they even declined to speak after Boston’s loss to Chicago.

The Celtics looked a lot better last night vs. Orlando, but these issues are probably not over just yet. Smart and Brown played great, but Tatum still struggled.

One can only wish that one good game could solve internal issues. From the way Wojnarowski explained the situation, however, this is not something that can be easily glossed over.
