Trades to help the Washington Wizards playoff push: Christian Wood

Now, this is a trade that would shake up the NBA. If the Washington Wizards were able to add Christian Wood they could turn themselves into a real playoff threat.

The Houston Rockets have been abysmal this season. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, though, as they are in full rebuild mode as an organization.

Wood has a couple of years left on his deal, but trading him for young players and assets could be in Houston’s best interest. This would allow them to completely commit to their young, young, core.

As of now, Wood is averaging a double-double and shooting the ball very well from both the field and from deep. He’s a power forward that could easily spend some time at the five as well.

The Wizards could run him next to one of their centers or choose to go small and play him at the five. Regardless, he’s an All-Star-level talent who would pair perfectly next to Bradley Beal.

Houston would be getting a nice influx of young talent in this deal. Deni Avdija, Corey Kispert, and Isaiah Todd have a ton of potential to grow and improve.

As for Thomas Bryant, he is injured right now and would likely only be thrown in to match salary. Once he’s back, he would also give the Rockets some solid center minutes.

A trade like this could turn the Washington Wizards into a very scary playoff team. If Wood hits the market, they should definitely be giving the Rockets a call.

Most likely first time All-Stars from each team. dark. Next
