Trades to catapult the Sacramento Kings into the playoffs: Domantas Sabonis

Kings get Sabonis, Pacers get Bagley, Thompson, Davion, 2024 First Round, 2026 First Round

The Indiana Pacers have gotten off to a terrible start to the season. Things are looking bleak for them despite the hiring of new head coach Rick Carlisle.

Domantas Sabonis hasn’t been bad for them, but no one on that roster should be untouchable at the moment. In all honesty, it might be time for them to explore the idea of blowing things up.

If that becomes the case, the Sacramento Kings should come knocking immediately. They should be taking any chance they get to add talent to their roster.

Sabonis is a two-time All-Star who could help lead their frontcourt. He may not be a defensive mastermind, but he’d definitely help win them some basketball games.

It would definitely cost them a pretty penny to get him, though. That penny might just end up being rookie Davion Mitchell, who has been a beast on defense so far this season.

Add him to a package of Marvin Bagley, Tristan Thompson, and a couple of first-round picks, and the Pacers might be willing to bite. That trade could help improve their future, while not hurting them too badly right now, either.

If the Pacers decide to blow things up, this is a trade the Kings should definitely offer. Their playoff chances would increase tremendously.
