Teams for the Sixers and Ben Simmons to keep an eye on: 1. Portland Trail Blazers

The name that keeps coming up in Philadelphia 76ers president of basketball operations Dary Morey’s wish lists is Damian Lillard, but the Portland Trail Blazers star is insistent that he does not want a trade.

It’s easy to say that now as a new season dawns, but how many home losses to the Sacramento Kings is he willing to endure before he decides that loyalty is simply not worth the mediocrity that comes with staying in Portland?

Lillard for Simmons is the deal that everybody crows about, but it’s possible that CJ McCollum and “stuff” might get the job done as well. After all, McCollum is coming off an explosive breakout season and flourishes with or without Lillard. He could take a huge leap playing alongside Joel Embiid in Philadelphia and end up being a coup for Morey rather than a mere consolation prize.

After a rough offseason, there’s turmoil beneath those placid Pacific waters. Whether it be Lillard or McCollum, the Portland Trail Blazers are absolutely on Morey’s hit list.
