Assists: Dennis Schroder

As previously mentioned, Dennis Schroder is planned to be the primary facilitator for the Boston Celtics this season. Schroder had a very short and rather disappointing run with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Going into the season there were hopes that he would be their point guard of the future and the Lakers would be making a run for the championship in the 2020-2021 season. However, that plan fell flat on its face with the Lakers taking a first-round exit and Schroder being a member of the Celtics this season.

Last season, he averaged 5.8 assists per game and there is a chance that if things line up right, this number could easily grow this season.

Boston signed Schroder to an incredible contract. He has the potential to exceed both his scoring and assist numbers from last season. The main concern is getting Schroder to buy in to being a facilitator rather than falling back on his ability to score the ball.

The Celtics will be looking for Schroder to revert back to the style of play that he had during his time with the Atlanta Hawks. Whether this happens or not is a whole different question.

However, if the Celtics can get him to buy in he has the potential to be the best passing point guard that the Celtics have seen in a few years.
