Odds of every NBA team winning 2021-22 title: Brooklyn Nets +250

The Brooklyn Nets might be the only team in NBA history that can do this.

Usually, when a star player isn’t with his team, whether it’s due to injury, a holdout, or in this case, refusal to take the COVID-19 vaccine, that team’s odds plummet. Once it was discovered that Kyrie Irving will no longer play for the Nets this season as long as he isn’t vaccinated, oddsmakers shrugged their shoulders and went about their day.

The Nets odds to win the championship this season didn’t move one iota. Most of that is due to the presence of James Harden and of course, Kevin Durant. With both players holding MVP trophies and multiple league-leading scoring titles, the Nets still have more than enough to get things done, although it didn’t quite look like it in game one.

Despite a tough outing against the Milwaukee Bucks, there’s a ton to like about the ancillary pieces surrounding said superstars. LaMarcus Aldridge, Blake Griffin, and Paul Millsap aren’t All-Star caliber players anymore but they still have plenty of game left.

In the end, the Nets are going to have arguably the two best players each and every time on the floor. So, whether Irving rejoins them or not, the Nets are the team to beat.
