Odds of every NBA team winning 2021-22 title: Los Angeles Lakers +400

The Los Angeles Lakers have the best roster in the NBA…if this was 2011.

After bowing out in the first round last season, the purple and gold brought in a ton of older talent this year. Carmelo Anthony, Rajon Rondo, DeAndre Jordan, and Dwight Howard to name a few, will all play strong roles for the Lakers this season.

While on paper they look terrific, don’t expect them to be huge stars during the season. Despite the star-studded names, the greatness of this team is going to be determined by LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Judging by game one of the season, both players appear to be ready to lead LA to another title.

Pay no attention to how the Lakers lost the first game of the year against the Golden State Warriors on their home floor. The biggest takeaway was the play of both James and Davis, dropping over 30 points apiece and grabbing an identical 11 rebounds. Don’t hit the panic button on Russell Westbrook and his eight-point game. It was disappointing but he’ll bounce back in no time.

As a whole, the Lakers are incredibly old and aren’t as talented as you would think. Regardless of that, James and Davis make them the rightful odds on favorites to make it out of the Western Conference this year.
