Odds of every NBA team winning 2021-22 title: Denver Nuggets +2000

How quickly they forget.

The Denver Nuggets were one of the sexiest teams in the league just last year. On paper at least, it was easy to see why. The Nuggets had a roster filled with former All-Stars such as Paul Millsap and league-leading superstars such as Nikola Jokic. This year, things are a bit different.

Millsap, while diminished, is no longer in the mile high. Jokic is still going to be dominant as ever but with Jamal Murray still on the sidelines nursing a torn ACL suffered over a year ago, who knows when he’ll come back.

The one saving grace for the Nuggets is Michael Porter Jr. The young star is everything the franchise asked for. Porter Jr. became a star last season, averaging 19 points per game but really turned it on in the absence of Murray, dropping over 25 points a night during a stretch of games.

This is the thing about the Nuggets, they have the talent to compete with anyone but to truly make some noise in the Eastern Conference, they need Murray to bounce back in a huge way. The combination of Murray, the reigning MVP in Jokic, and Porter Jr. – is probably the most talented young squad around. But they need Murray. If he can get back to dropping 40 and 50 point games, the Nuggets can and will win a bunch this year. Until then, bettors should stand by and see how things play out.
